FOLLOWING a two-week campaign, 31,639 voters will cast their ballots in the Cameron Highlands by-election today.

Pakatan Harapan’s M. Manogaran, Ramli Mohd Nor of Barisan Nasional, and independents Wong Seng Yee and Sallehudin Ab Talib are in the fight for the parliamentary seat.

All 29 voting centres – 17 in Tanah Rata and 12 in Jelai – were opened at 8am.

The centres will be closed in stages – one at 1pm, five (2pm), nine (3pm), one (3.30pm), seven (4pm) and six (5.30pm).

The Election Commission said 86 polling channels are open to ensure a smooth polls process.

The votes will be counted at SK Sultan Ahmad Shah in Tanah Rata, and for the first time, the EC will broadcast the process live on Facebook. – January 26, 2019.
