FOR the first time the city of Labuan is beautified by graffiti art.

Colourful art in various themes as well as portraits of famous people adorn the walls of shophouses.

Among the well-known faces decorating the buildings are local icon jelly grass maker Uncle Ah Ming and former national football player Hassan Sani.

Hassan said he was flattered to have been selected as a subject for the graffiti art, saying he hope the artwork would inspire people to excel in sports.

The RM80,000 graffiti project is organised by National Arts Gallery and Labuan City Council and funded by the Arts, Tourism and Culture Ministry. – November 2, 2019.
