TENS of thousands of devotees thronged Batu Caves, Selangor to celebrate Thaipusam in spite of the coronavirus outbreak, with those seen wearing face masks few and far in between.

According to Hindu belief, Thaipusam commemorates the day when goddess Parvathi gave her son Lord Muruga a lance to kill evil demons.– February 8, 2020.
