DOCTORS, nurses and healthcare workers are now the ‘heroes’ of Covid-19 with those working in the public and private sectors giving their all trying to combat the pandemic.

Selangor, which has the highest number of confirmed cases among all the states, with 1,345 as of yesterday, is conducting large-scale tests for Covid-19 to flatten the infection curve in the state.

The community-level testing currently underway is a collaboration between the state government and the private sector with the support of volunteers and coordinated by state government subsidiary, Selcare Management Sdn Bhd.

The screening tests are conducted by 48 medical personnel and target high-risk groups, such as senior citizens, through the help of big data analysis.

Between 400 and 500 tests are carried out daily to identify more cases of infection, says Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari. – April 21, 2020.
