Sporting shaved heads, tattoo-covered torsos and leather boots, hundreds of Malaysian skinheads converged on Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur over the weekend for full-throated live music performances.

Held at Chin Woo Stadium, the concert featured 18 live bands from Malaysia and Singapore during the festival called This is Oi! Kuala Lumpur Skinhead Gathering Party.

The skinhead movement first emerged among working-class youth in Britain in the 1960s as a way to project anti-establishment, anti-hippy sentiment, but avoiding politics and race.

Compared with other their Western counterparts, Malaysia tiny skinhead community is relatively tame, but is still frowned upon by Islamic authorities. – January 28, 2018.
