JALAN Tunku Abdul Rahman or Jalan TAR in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, is a shopping heaven, especially during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

The atmosphere there gets merrier towards the end of the fasting month with Muslims thronging the area, shopping for Hari Raya Aidilfitri essentials such as cookies, traditional clothing and toys.

Hundreds of booths are set up in the back lanes of Jalan TAR, offering an array of goods at attractive prices. This attracts people from and outside the Klang Valley. Clothing and headscarves are the best-selling items there.

The Malaysian Insight photographer Hasnoor Hussain visited the Jalan TAR Ramadan bazaar on the public holiday of Nuzul al-Quran, the 17th day in Ramadhan to capture the ambience there this year.
