MANY have gone around the world by either walking, driving, cycling, riding on motorcycles, sailing, or flying, but how about crisscrossing the world in an electric car? 

And without any money; with the route being determined by anyone willing to provide food, shelter and a chance to recharge the electric vehicle. 

As far-fetched as this idea may seem, that is what 30-year-old Wiebe Wakering is doing. And how he is now in Malaysia.

The adventurous Dutchman set out from the Netherlands on March 15, 2016, and arrived in Malaysia from Thailand just over 10 days ago as part of a unique global mission to promote sustainability in daily life and showcase electric vehicles. 

His ultimate destination is Australia.

For his trip, Wakker relies on the the crowd to reach his goal. His website plugmeinproject.com offers people the opportunity to support him with food, shelter, and energy. – July 25, 2017.
