Anwar good for both PD and Malaysia, says A. Samad Said

A. SAMAD Said today vouched for the goodness of Anwar Ibrahim and said the PKR president-designate was not only good for Port Dickson, but for Malaysia.
The national laureate said Malaysia needed Anwar back in the scheme of things.
“He was an important figure in our nation’s history.
“It has been proven that he has good leadership skills and the capacity to become prime minister,” he told The Malaysian Insight when in Port Dickson today.
The 84-year-old novelist, poet, and DAP member said that Anwar would be the best choice to take over from Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad when the time came for the senior man to leave office.
Samad said it would be easier for Anwar to take over as Pakatan Harapan had already formed the government.
“Now there are no obstacles for him to take the top spot,” he said.
Anwar is contesting in the Port Dickson by-election in a seven-cornered fight in an attempt to get into Parliament.
The former deputy prime minister is going against former Negri Sembilan menteri besar Isa Samad, PAS’ Nazari Mokhtar, and four independents including his former aide, Saiful Bukhari Mohd Azlan
The Port Dickson parliamentary seat has 75,212 registered voters, comprising 43% Malays, 33% Chinese and 22% Indians. – October 1, 2018.
