CHEF Wan today said he wants to slap former prime minister Najib Razak and ex-Felda chairman Mohd Isa Abdul Samad for letting the agency get into a financial mess.

The celebrity chef, whose real name is Redzuawan Ismail, the son of a Felda settler, said Najib, during his time in power, had dished out goodies to Felda folk, but at the same time, allowed the agency to be mismanaged.

“How could you let Felda be mismanaged like that? Come on, you put Isa Samad up there, knowing all that he had done before.

“If I had him (Isa) here, I would slap him, and I would slap Najib,” he told reporters after a cooking programme for Felda settlers in Cameron Highlands.

Chef Wan flew into a rage after being told about how Najib, in his pitch to voters, said Felda had flourished during his time in office.

The chef said Isa’s controversial deals had resulted in graft charges brought against him and losses to the agency.

He added that as a former Felda settler himself, he hopes others are aware of the damage inflicted on the group by the previous Barisan Nasional government.

“Before the 13th general election, my mother got RM5,000. Felda settlers, too, got RM5,000. Of course they (settlers) believed it was good, but how could they (BN government) have given the money when Felda was in financial difficulty?” – January 20, 2019.
