Seven Sabah reps to get Bersatu membership tomorrow

SEVEN Sabah assemblymen are expected to be formally inducted into Bersatu at the launch of party’s state chapter tomorrow.

State central organising chairman Hajiji Mohd Noor said six were from Sabah Umno and one was from United Pasok Momogun KadazanDusun Organisation (Upko).

“The six are Japlin Akim (Usukan), Rahim Ismail (Pantai Manis), Mohd Ariffin Mohd Arif (Membakut), Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (Apas), Isnin Aliasnih (Klias) and Ghulam Bahadar Khan (Kawang).

“The former Upko rep is Bobbey Suan (Nabawan),” he said today in Penampang, where the launch will be held.

Hajiji declined comment when asked whether Bersatu will accept Sipitang MP Hafez Yamani Musa who followed the Sabah Umno reps leaving the party in Dec last year.

Bersatu chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin are expected at the event in Penampang’s ITCC Mall tomorrow afternoon.

The premier is also expected receive over 130,000 membership forms at the launch.

On March 15, Hajiji (Sulaman) and Karanaaan assemblyman Masidi Manjun, as well as Sabah MPs Abdul Rahim Bakri (Kudat), Azizah Mohd DUn (Beaufort), Dr Ronald Kiandee (Beluran), Zakaria Mohd Edris (Libaran) and Senators John Ambrose and Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin received their party membership cards from Dr Mahathir in Putrajaya.

Organisers expect more than 30,000 people at tomorrow’s launch. – April 5, 2019.
