Sandakan belongs to PBS, says Mat Hasan in salvo at DAP supremo

SANDAKAN belongs to Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and not the peninsula-based DAP, said Umno acting president Mohamad Hasan.
He fired back at DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, who said the contest for the parliamentary seat is between Pakatan Harapan and Umno-PAS.
Lim is bent on destroying the two Malay parties’ partnership, and in the process, belittling PBS, said Mohamad.
“He (Lim) knows this, and whatever comes out of his mouth is all about trying to destroy Umno’s cooperation with PAS. DAP knows the Umno-PAS alliance spells disaster for them, not the people,” he said in Bandar Lee Tat, Sandakan, last night.
“They (DAP) are poisoning the minds of the people.”
He stressed that the by-election this Saturday is a battle between PBS and the PH component.
He said DAP previously worked with the Islamist PAS in the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat.
“When DAP worked with PAS before, Umno did not say anything. But when Umno finally works with PAS, they issue such statements. Surely they have ill intentions.”
Mohamad is in Sabah in support of PBS candidate Linda Tsen Thau Lin, who is in a five-way fight for Sandakan.
