HAZIQ Abdul Aziz has been suspended with immediate effect from the Primary Industries Ministry after allegedly confessing to a homosexual relationship with a minister.

The announcement was made by the Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin today.

Haziq is Shamsul’s principal private secretary.

Haziq has also been told to answer a show-cause letter issued to him yesterday, by tomorrow, failing which he will be sacked from his job at the ministry.

“He has been ordered to reply to the show-cause letter that was dated June 12, within three days,” Shamsul Iskandar told a press conference this afternoon.

Shamsul said he is shocked by what has transpired since the release of the gay sex clips involving Haziq and another man resembling Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali.

While Haziq has admitted of being the person in the clips, Azmin denied it and called it a nefarious plot to destroy his political career.

“I am quite blindsided by all this. People are saying so many things on social media but as the person who appointed Haziq, of cours,e I am stumped,” said Shamsul.

He, however, defended his decision to appoint Haziq as his aide in January.

Shamsul said he had only returned from Myanmar yesterday, and he last spoke to Haziq on Tuesday about work.

He added Haziq could not be contacted after that as he was seeking an explanation over the sex clips. Even his WhatsApp messages to Haziq were unanswered.

He said he was informed that Haziq could not be contacted by his family.

“I am told the family have no communications with him. They don’t know of his whereabouts and they are saddened by what has happened.”

Haziq’s suspension came just hours after fresh claims in a Facebook page under his name.

Haziq had claimed Azmin sent his political secretary Muhammad Hilman Idham to meet Haziq at the Marriot Putrajaya hotel to get Haziq to deny that the minister was in the viral sex clip.

“He forced me to deny that it was you (Azmin) in the viral video and asked me to lie for you. I asked for more time to consult my parents and this angered him.

“After I refused, he made threats and said ‘this’ will be shut down within 48 hours with or without my help to lie,” according to the post.

Hilman today admitted to recently meeting Haziq but declined to state the reason for the private meeting.

Instead, he said he will leave the authorities to investigate the matter.

Hilman today lodged a police report and a “qazaf” (slander) report following the release of a video purportedly showing Azmin having sex with Haziq last month. – June 13, 2019.
