Will ask you first next time, Dr Mahathir taunts Klang MP

PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today mocked his critics by saying that he would first consult them before making any decisions.
“In future, when there is a decision to be made, I will only make it after checking with (Charles) Santiago,” he told reporters in Langkawi.
“I will get his opinion. He is equal to me,” he replied sarcastically to remarks made earlier by DAP lawmaker Charles Santiago that there was too much power vested in the hands of Dr Mahathir, which could be detrimental for Pakatan Harapan.
The decision-making process should be removed from the prime minister and shared within the PH presidential council, the Klang MP had said in a statement.
Dr Mahathir has been making unilateral decisions for the people at a “troubling frequency” and calling the shots despite representing a party that is considered a minority in the ruling coalition, he added.
“Currently, it looks like there is too much power in the hands of the prime minister and so this power needs to be shared equally among all the component parties.”
He said by now Dr Mahathir should be able to read the mood of the people.
“He must understand that arbitrary decisions, without consultation, will not get him far.” – August 12, 2019.
