DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today said there is nothing more to add on how the party will deal with its Sg Pelek assemblyman Ronnie Liu for criticising Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Lim added he had addressed the issue yesterday and told reporters in Penang today that he had nothing new to say.
“I have answered yesterday, right? Didn’t you read the news reports?” he said when asked about Liu.
DAP had said Liu would be referred to the disciplinary board for criticising Dr Mahathir.
Yesterday, when speaking to reporters at the Selangor DAP convention, Lim had said there should not be double standards in handling internal matters within Pakatan Harapan.
He said this when asked if Bersatu should take action against Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu over remarks directed at DAP.
Lim, who is also finance minister, was asked if Bersatu should refer Faizal to its disciplinary committee just as Liu was referred to DAP’s disciplinary committee for suggesting a government be formed without Bersatu and Dr Mahathir.
“The issues mentioned will be addressed to make sure there are no double standards.
“I think that will be addressed after the Tg Piai by-election. It will be clarified after the by-election.
“This is to ensure the Pakatan Harapan principle that there are no double standards.
“After all, we say there must be fair treatment among our own, if not how do we ensure fair treatment for everybody,” Lim said yesterday.
He, however, did not address the issue of Liu’s disciplinary proceeding. – November 11, 2019.
