‘Inappropriate’ for Pakatan leaders to meet with ‘the enemy,’ says Mat Sabu

IT is inappropriate for Pakatan Harapan leaders to meet opposition MPs on the pretext of resolving problems, said Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
Mohamad said any issues in PH should be resolved internally and not with the help of its enemy.
“We should not be appealing to our enemies, especially to Umno and PAS. That is not right!”
“It’s okay to meet with anyone at the coffee shop, but if we depend on our enemies to give us strength then it is misplaced faith,” he said, when opening the Penang Amanah convention today.
He did not mention any names in his speech.
Mohamad said differences of opinion between PH members should be resolved within internal channels.
“Differences of opinion are not a problem. Arguments should be resolved during meetings. If you disagree, say so at the meeting,” he said.
On Monday, Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali held a meeting with 22 Umno MPs, setting off speculation that it was to discuss foiling a motion of no confidence in Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is facing calls for his resignation following PH’s disastrous showing at the Tg Piai by election last Saturday.
The MPs in the meeting said they had met with Azmin to discuss allocations and projects for their constituencies.
Yesterday, Dr Mahathir said the MPs had complained that Umno was “directionless” and they were looking at either leaving it or joining another party.
But the MPs involved insisted they are loyal to Umno and the meeting was to discuss project allocations. – November 23, 2019.
