RED paint was splashed and a dead chicken left at the entrance of Johor Baru MP Akmal Nasir’s service centre in Taman Larkin early today.

Akmal, who is also PKR youth chief, said there a threatening note was also left at the entrance.

“My staff who arrived around 7.20am informed me that the front entrance to the service centre has been splashed with paint and a chicken carcass and a threatening message addressed to me thrown at the entrance,” he said in a statement and on his Twitter account.

When contacted by The Malaysian Insight, Akmal refused to state what the message contained.

“One of my staff members made a police report and I leave it to them to investigate.”

Akmal and PKR youth are the latest signs of discord in the party, after the youth leadership aligned to him agreed to withdraw an invitation to PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali to officiates the wing’s annual congress next month.

The wing invited Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail instead.

However, other youth leaders led by Akmal’s deputy, Hilman Idham, do not support the move and have said that Azmin will still officiate the opening.

Hilman is also Azmin’s political secretary in the latter’s capacity as economic affairs minister.

The youth congress is on December 6 in Malacca. – November 26, 2019.
