POLICE will seek the Malaysia Medical Council’s (MMC) views with regard to two experts’ contradicting testimonies on Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim’s post-mortem report.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department chief Huzir Mohamed said cops will also call up several other individuals to record their statements as part of the probe into the fireman’s death last year.
Adib died on December 17 at the National Heart Institute, where he was hospitalised following the November 27 riots at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Subang Jaya.
“We will ask MMC for their views on the two experts’ testimonies on Adib’s post-mortem,” Huzir told reporters in Shah Alam today.
“Bukit Aman’s crime scene investigation unit and forensic laboratory will also use an SD scanner in a reconstruction of the incident to get a more accurate picture.”
The coroners’ court, at the end of an inquest in September, ruled that Adib’s death was due to a criminal act by two or more unknown individuals.
Following the ruling, police continued their investigation into the case, which has been classified as murder.
During the inquest, forensic pathologists Professor Dr Shahrom Abd Wahid and Dr Ahmad Hafizam Hasmi disagreed on the cause of Adib’s injuries.
One view is that the fireman fell out of the emergency medical rescue services vehicle he was in, and the other is that he was pulled out by rioters and beaten. – December 16, 2019.
