THE post-mortem results on Mohamad Thaqif Amin Mohd Gaddafi are expected to be ready in two weeks, said Johor executive councillor for health, environment, education and information today.
The autopsy will take time as the hospital needs to check pre-existing conditions and physical marks on the body, said Ayub Rahmat.
The report will also depend on the police investigations into the case.
“So far, the doctors have already interviewed Thaqif’s parents, the police and obtained his medical report from other doctors,” Ayub was quoted in Bernama today.
Thaqif was taken out of a religious school in Kota Tinggi by his mother on March 31 after he complained of frequent beatings.
He was allegedly abused and tortured by the assistant school warden, who had whipped him with a water hose until the legs turned black and blue.
The legs became infected and the infection later spread to the boy’s kidneys and shoulder.
Thaqif’s legs had to be amputated at Sultan Ismail Hospital. He was scheduled to undergo more surgery at 8am yesterday to remove the right arm but it was postponed because of his weak heart.
He died at the hospital yesterday at 2pm. The assistant school warden, who was remanded by police on Saturday, is now facing a murder charge. – April 27, 2017.
