PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man today said he was only at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaling Jaya tonight alongside political leaders from both sides of the divide for a dinner.
However, he refused to divulge any matters that were discussed during the event.
“Tonight, I attended a dinner for MPs. It is just a get-together. Various parties attended.
“No speeches or press conferences were given,” Ibrahim told The Malaysian Insight.
On what the aim of the gathering was, the Kubang Kerian MP said he was only fulfilling an invitation.
“I don’t know. I was invited. We (PAS) also had a meeting tonight, so I left early,” he added.
Other leaders who attended the dinner at the hotel tonight include PKR’s Mohamed Azmin Ali and Bersatu’s Muhyiddin Yassin.
Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Annuar Musa and Ismail Sabri Yaakob were among the Umno MPs seen entering the hotel from 7pm this evening.
The dinner was held amid speculation that a new government may be formed and the current ruling Pakatan Harapan government would be dissolved.
Annuar, meanwhile, hinted that a new coalition, which will include a partnership between Umno and Bersatu, will be formed. – February 23, 2020.
