PKR supporters, angry with the loss of power in Putrajaya, have resorted to heckling and accosting party leaders aligned to sacked deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.

They aimed their anger at PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang over his alliance with Azmin.

Chua was hurled with abuses by PKR members as he tried to enter his car. One man can be seen throwing punches as he was escorted to his car.

The PKR leader, better known as Tian Chua, was also splashed with water.

The Malaysian Insight learnt that PKR held a meeting at its headquarters at noon today and the meeting had just ended a while ago.

Penang Seberang Jaya assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin, who is also close to Azmin’s camp, was also mocked and jeered by PKR grassroots members as he tried to leave the headquarters.

When contacted, Chua said he understood the anger of a small portion of party supporters.

The former Batu MP said he was still loyal to PKR, and that it was time for the party to start afresh.

“I attended a party meeting earlier when this happened. It is a small matter. I understand the anger of this small group.

“Whatever it is, we start again. And this is not about any individuals but about our party.

“I am loyal to PKR,” he added.

Meanwhile PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil condemned the rowdy behaviour of these supporters, and urged authorities to take action against them for breaking the law.

“At the same time I also urge the party disciplinary board to investigate and take stern action against these members,” he said on his social media. – March 1, 2020.
