10 new virus cases today a record low

MALAYSIA today registered a record low of 10 new coronavirus cases, as well as 86 recoveries.

The death toll remains 115 as no new fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours, Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah told a press conference in Putrajaya.

Total recoveries now stand at 6,169, or 80.1% of overall infections, which number 7,629.

Dr Noor Hisham said all of the new cases are local transmissions, with five patients being foreigners.

“There are no imported cases from people who were infected overseas.”

Currently, 1,345 patients are still receiving treatment. Eight are in intensive care, with four on ventilators.

Since the conditional movement-control order (CMCO) was imposed on May 4, 1,189 infections were recorded. Only 22.7%, or 270 cases, are Malaysians.

The total infections registered since the CMCO took effect include 383 at three Immigration Department depots in Bukit Jalil, Semenyih and Sepang. – May 28, 2020.
