7 new virus cases for second day running, no deaths

MALAYSIA saw a low seven new Covid-19 cases for the second day in a row, and a record 281 patients discharged today, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. 

“This brings the number of recoveries to 6,975 cases, or 83.7% of the cumulative Covid-19 cases, which now stands at 8,336,” he said today in a daily press conference on the coronavirus response.

He said six of the seven new cases were imported while the single case of local transmission was a foreigner.

The local transmission was detected during screening, when the foreigner returned to work in Kuala Lumpur, according to the Health Ministry’s daily report. 

The death toll stays at 117 with no new deaths today.

He said there are 1,244 active cases, six of which are in intensive care and one of them on respiratory support. – June 9, 2020.
