MALAYSIA today saw a record low of two new coronavirus cases – the lowest since movement restrictions were imposed on March 18 – and 39 patients discharged, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

None of the new cases were Malaysian.

One death from Covid-19 was reported – that of a 61-year-old Malaysian man who had diabetes and kidney disease.

The deceased was of the Seri Petaling cluster and who was admitted to the Sg Buloh Hospital on March 15. He died today at 7am.

The virus death toll now is 118.

Recoveries number 7,014, or 84.1% of the total 8,338 infections, Noor Hisham told a daily press conference in Putrajaya.

He said one of the two new cases was imported while the other case of local transmission was a foreign patient, whose infection was detected in Kuching, said Noor Hisham.

He said there are 1,206 active cases, five of which are in intensive care and none on respiratory support. – June 10, 2020.
