POLICE are wrapping up investigations into Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Dzulkifli Ahmad’s extramarital affair with a married woman, Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said.
“We are going to wrap up the investigations this week. We hope it includes all aspects,” Fuzi said, when asked whether police have called in Dzulkifli to have his statement recorded.
Fuzi, however, declined to comment if police have identified the man in the video clips which showed a couple holidaying in Bali.
This will be the third time the investigation paper into Dzulkifli, for allegedly enticing a married woman will be submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
Three weeks ago, Fuzi had said police had submitted investigation papers on October 17 and on October 30 but the AGC handed them back for more information.
Dzulkifli is at the centre of a controversy after a series of video clips surfaced, allegedly showing him on a holiday with a woman, who is not his wife, in Bali.
Police are investigating him under Section 498 of the Penal Code for enticing a married woman.
Another clip widened the accusations against Dzulkifli of abusing government funds and warning top civil servant Ali Hamsa from covering up the scandal.
That clip started by with asking if whether it was corruption for Dzulkifli to attend a conference in Hong Kong using air tickets paid by the government but skipping the event.
The 57-second clip on the YouTube video-sharing site under the Jejak Dua Belas account showed a closed-circuit television view of a hotel room with an unmade bed, threatening to reveal the entire clip if thorough investigations are not done over an alleged sex scandal.
Dzulkifli has neither confirmed nor denied being the man in the clips and only said he would not bow to “dirty tactics”.
The clips were uploaded anonymously since October but have since been taken down. – December 6, 2017.
