YANG di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has expressed concerns on the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases of late.

Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said Al-Sultan Abdullah was troubled because there was a huge increase in the number of cases in the past month.

“Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed His Majesty’s concern over the recent number of cases of positive Covid-19 cases.

“Until September 27, 2020, there were 150 new cases that were reported, making the total number of positive cases in Malaysia to 10,919,” he said in a statement today.

The Agong also advised the public to take care of their health and always follow government’s standard operating procedures to combat the pandemic.

“He also advised the people to always take care of themselves and always be vigilant and comply with regulations by the government.”

Al-Sultan Abdullah was also worried about the 36 cases in peninsular due to Malaysians returning back from Sabah from September 20 to September 27.

Tawau has the highest number of cases with 634, followed by Semporna (255), Lahad Datu (241) and Kunak (65).

Putrajaya will enforce an administrative targeted enhanced movement-control order (TEMCO) on four districts in Sabah starting midnight, following a spike in Covid-19 cases there.

The four districts are Lahad Datu, Tawau, Kunak and Semporna. – September 28, 2020.
