PAKATAN Harapan has resolved 90% of its parliamentary seat distribution and is hopeful of reaching full resolution by the end of the month, said Amanah’s Khalid Samad today.
He said the coalition component parties had managed to further reduce the number of overlapped seats at a meeting yesterday.
“Currently we stand at about 90% of all parliamentary seats have been settled, leaving only a balance of 10%.
“State seats are being discussed at the state level. Decision on parliamentary seats will guide the states in their state negotiations,” he said in a press conference at his office in Shah Alam.
He added that they hoped the seat negotiations would be settled before the PH convention on January 7.
PH party leaders have said that seats are distributed among the component parties according to personalities, number of seats held, and other factors.
The PH presidential council has also decided that it will not cooperate with PAS and is ready for three-cornered fights in the 14th general election.
Amanah, Bersatu, and DAP have also agreed to name Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as interim prime minister and deputy prime minister, respectively, if the coalition wins the next general election.
PKR leadership are still undecided on whether the party would back Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s candidacy as the interim prime minister. – December 21, 2017.
