A NEW e-hailing and multiple service provider, Transporter, is planning to provide 10,000 new jobs next year, with the aim of putting extra cash in the pockets of those suffering from the economic slowdown, said its co-founder Ballagee Chandra.
He said that Transporter, which was launched today, also promises the most affordable, safest and hygienic rides in food delivery with dispatch services for its customers.
“We believe that Transporter will benefit a lot of people, especially those who lost their jobs and also those who are looking for side income,” said Ballagee who is also the chief transporter officer of Transporter.
“The current aim is to create at least 1,000 new jobs for each phase and our projection for 2021 is 10,000 new jobs,” he added.
He said that the platform would help out a lot of SMEs who have been struggling to penetrate the market they are in due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We will also train and re-skill our drivers under our Lend A Hand (LAH) programme to help enhance income and career growth opportunities.
“We also aim to provide a fair career path and also protect our partner’s livelihood.
“A certain portion of our income will be injected into our very own fund that will be used to help in educating, equipping and empowering targeted communities from school students, youth, single parents, young adults, senior citizens, from all walks of life,” said Ballagee.
For now, Transporter will only be available in the Klang Valley, and is targeting to offer nationwide service by the end of 2021.
“Transporter is passionate about offering only the most affordable and safest and hygienic rides, food delivery and dispatch services,” he said.
The firm’s chief strategy evangelist, Gerard Pillai, meanwhile said they have managed to get over 120 food and beverages under their platform within two weeks.
“Our expectation for next year is to have about 200-300 bookings per day.
“We will give 88% of a sale to the rider and 12% will be for us, which is more than enough based on our calculation,” he said. – December 31, 2020.
