VOLUNTEER groups that want to give out aid to flood victims across state lines must first obtain approval from the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma), said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“The request can be made online through Nadma’s portal. Nadma will tell them the locations where help is needed.

“Once approved, only then will the groups be allowed to proceed to the locations.

“Without the approval letter from Nadma, groups are not allowed to cross districts and the police have the right to stop them.

“I am not saying groups in other states are not allowed to help but it would be great if they can help within their own state or district,” he said today in his daily press conference.

Under the latest movement-control order, travel across districts and states are prohibited.

Ismail also said that the authorities have opened 257 investigations on Covid-19-related false reports.
