BAZAARS and terawih prayers will be allowed throughout Ramadan, which begins next month, with strict measures in place, Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.

“The operating hours for Ramadan bazaars will be from 3pm until 8pm,” he told a press conference.

The health rules for these bazaars, however, will be announced later “as it is still early”, the defence minister said.

He added however, in terms of location, the number of stalls as well as the size of the site will be determined by the local authorities in their respective state.

Last year, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin barred all Ramadan bazaars from opening until the movement-control order is lifted.

For terawih prayers, Ismail Sabri said the total number of attendees is subject to the states’ religious authorities. – March 16, 2021.
