1,199 Covid-19 cases reported today

MALAYSIA today recorded 1,199 positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. 

The director-general of health said on Twitter that Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 283. 

This, he said, is followed by Sarawak with 267 cases and Kelantan with 138.  

States with the fewest cases are Terengganu (three), Labuan (two) and Putrajaya (one), while Perlis is the only state with no cases reported.

Noor Hisham said this brings the cumulative total number of positive cases to 340,642.

As for other states, Penang reported 125 cases, Kuala Lumpur (84), Johor (81), Sabah (64), Negri Sembilan (43), Malacca (36), Kedah (33), Kelantan (30), Pahang (30) and Perak (nine), 

The ministry also recorded two deaths, bringing the fatalities up to 1,251. 

The deaths today involved a Malaysian from Sabah, and a foreigner in Penang. 

There were also 1,257 recoveries in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 325,182 cases.

Of the 14,209 active cases, 167 are being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU), of which 72 cases require respiratory assistance. – March 27, 2021.
