68 Geng Nicky members detained

POLICE have arrested 68 individuals believed to be members of Geng Nicky, including police officers and even a deputy public prosecutor, said Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador.
He said the young brother of businessman Nicky Liow Soon Hee was also picked up by the cops.
“Police also seized luxury vehicles and foreign currency worth over RM7 million with along with a pistol and 40 bullets,” he said at a media conference in Bukit Aman today.
He added that two of them were Dato’ Sri and six of them are Dato’.
Last Sunday, Johor police said they were looking for “Datuk Seri Nicky”, who is the founder of Winner Dynasty Group, for investigations under Sections 130 V to 130 ZB of the Penal Code for organised crimes.
Previously, Liow was arrested for assaulting two Rela members who were on duty at the Kou Ong Yah temple in Kuala Lumpur four years ago. He was later acquitted and discharged.
The IGP said 34 uniformed personnel involved with Geng Nicky, were also rounded up.
However, he did not provide further details on the uniformed personnel involved.
“We are still in the hunt for Liow as he managed to escape with bags of cash before we raided the place,” he said.
He added that those with information on Liow to come forward and help assist the police task force.
Hamid also confirmed that Geng Nicky has been active since 2014 and the victims are not only Malaysians but also Chinese nationals.
“Stern action will be taken against any individuals harbouring him (Liow) regardless of their status,” said Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
