College, training institute among four areas under EMCO from tomorrow

A COLLEGE and training institute are two of four areas to be placed under the enhanced movement-control order (EMCO) following a drastic spike in Covid-19 cases, said Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The EMCO will start tomorrow and end on April 30.
The Kolej Tahfiz Sains Nurul Aman college in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, and the Aminuddin Baki Institute, along with its staff quarters in Bentong, Pahang, have seen an increase in infections, the senior minister said in a statement today.
The Tahfiz Sains Nurul Aman college has a total of 31 positive cases out of 56 screenings conducted.
At the Aminuddin Baki Institute, along with its staff quarters, 15 Covid-19 cases have been found out of 420 screenings.
The other two localities are Taman Tawau Lama and Kampung Batu Payung in Tawau, Sabah.
In Taman Tawau Lama, the Health Ministry had conducted nine screening tests and five people were found infected with Covid-19.
In Kampung Batu Payung, eight people were found positive from the 12 screened.
On violators of Covid-19 standard operating procedure, Ismail Sabri said 82 were arrested yesterday and fined.
The offences included not wearing masks (21), failing to record personal details/check -in to premises (15), no physical distancing (14), entertainment centre activities (two), and others (30). – April 16, 2021.
