24 new Covid-19 clusters, 9 linked to workplaces

HEALTH authorities detected 24 new Covid-19 clusters today, taking the country’s cumulative cluster count to 2,025, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The director-general of health said workplaces accounted for nine clusters; community transmissions, eight; places of worship, six; and high-risk group, one.
He said the country’s active clusters now stands at 556.
The workplace clusters are:
1. Jalan Kempas Dua in Muar, Johor (68 cases);
2. Persiaran Cassia Selatan Dua in Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang (56);
3. Jalan Bukit Puchong in Petaling, Selangor (38);
4. Jalan Enam Selatan in Sepang, Kuala Langat, Petaling in Selangor, Cheras (Kuala Lumpur), Putrajaya, and Seremban, Rembau and Port Dickson in Negri Sembilan (31);
5. Industri Bukit Minyak in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang (28);
6. Kemuning Tujuh in Klang and Petaling, Selangor (26);
7. Jalan Kilang Ubi in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang (16);
8. Jalan Perindustrian Lima in Muar, Johor (15); and
9. Bandar Jalan Putra in Kuantan, Pahang (13).
The community clusters are:
1. Simpang Juasseh in Jempol, Kuala Pilah and Seremban, Negri Sembilan (54 cases);
2. Jarum Laut in Tangkak, Johor (38);
3. Bukit Temedak in Pakan, Sarawak (30);
4. Kampung Paroh in Besut, Terengganu (26);
5. Jalan Mangga in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (14);
6. Kampung Jakar in Machang, Sarawak (10);
7. Taman Sourabaya Indah in Kuching, Sarawak (9); and
8. Kampung Panggong in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan (8).
The places of worship clusters are:
1. Permai Sejahtera in Lipis and Kuantan, Pahang (71 cases);
2. Terendak Permai in Melaka Tengah, Malacca (27);
3. Dah Seri Perigi in Yan, Kedah (21);
4. Taman Majupadu in Kluang, Johor (15);
5. Jalan Desa Satu in Kuala Selangor, Selangor (12); and
6. Parit Dato Onn in Pontian, Johor (11).
The high-risk group cluster is Jalan Temiang in Seremban, Negri Sembilan with 13 cases.
Noor Hisham said 1,469 clusters have ended in the country as of today. – May 23, 2021.
