MALAYSIA reported 5,304 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, with the Klang Valley accounting for more than 2,000 cases.

Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the fresh cases had taken the national caseload to 657,508.

Selangor chalked up 1,973 cases while Kuala Lumpur reported 462 cases.

Other states that saw new cases were Sabah (335), Johor (363), Sarawak (544), Negeri Sembilan (331), Penang (256), Kelantan (179), Perak (121), Kedah (301), Malacca (145), Pahang (78), Terengganu (46) and Labuan (158).

Putrajaya and Perlis saw the least number of cases with seven and five cases respectively.

Meanwhile, 4.36 million doses of vaccine were administered under the national Covid-19 vaccination drive yesterday, with 1.33 million people fully immunised with both doses. – June 13, 2021.
