Health Ministry reports 19 new clusters

WORKPLACE clusters continued to dominate the list of fresh groupings today, accounting for 14 out of the 19 new clusters reported by the Ministry of Health.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said health authorities also detected four clusters linked to community transmission and one involving a high-risk group.
The 14 workplace clusters on the list today were:
1. Industri Balakong Baru 11 in Hulu Langat, Selangor (61 cases)
2. Industri Pulau Meranti in Sepang, Selangor (57 cases)
3. Industri Jalan Berangan in Klang, Selangor (74 cases)
4. Industri Meranti Jaya 13 in Sepang, Selangor (81 cases)
5. Industri Jalan Serendah in Petaling, Selangor (24 cases)
6. Industri Perusahaan Dua Bangi in Hulu Langat and Petaling, Selangor (42 cases)
7. Jalan Keluli Lama in Johor Baru, Johor (12 cases)
8. Kasap in Segamat, Johor (nine cases)
9. Dulang in Subis, Miri and Bintulu, Sarawak (39 cases)
10. Jalan Daya in Kuching, Sarawak (27 cases)
11. Tingkat Perusahaan Empat, Seberang Prai Tengah and Seberang Prai Utara, Penang (25 cases)
12. Industri Teknologi Cheng 28 in Malacca Tengah, Malacca (27 cases)
13. Wangsa Kuarza Construction Site (14 cases)
14. Dah Industri Arang in Kuala Muda and Sik, Kedah (17 cases)
These clusters were detected at factories, service companies and a plantation.
Meanwhile, the four community clusters were:
1. Nanga Sejugam (64 cases)
2. Nanga Strass (29 cases)
3. Kampung Kolong (44 cases)
4. Desa Rajang (260 cases).
Desa Rajang was discovered in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, after a targeted screening exercise.
The other three community clusters were detected in Sarawak.
Completing the list today was the Jalan Mesra cluster of 25 cases involving residents and staff of an old folk’s home.
Cases linked to this cluster were reported in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, and Hulu Langat, Selangor.
Noor Hisham also said that there are currently 778 active clusters of infection nationwide. – June 15, 2021.
