23 new clusters, majority workplaces

SEVENTEEN of the 23 new Covid-19 clusters reported by the Health Ministry today were linked to workplaces.
Director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said health authorities also detected four clusters linked to community transmissions.
The 17 workplace clusters on the list today were:
1. Industri Jalan Waja 4, Kuala Langat, Selangor – 34 cases
2. Industri Jalan Hi-tech Tujuh, Hulu Langat and Petaling, Selangor – 15 cases
3. Industri Bukit Serdang Tujuh, Petaling and Hulu Langat, Selangor – 13 cases
4. Jalan Fauna Satu in Sepang, Selangor – 21 cases
5. Desa Rawang construction site, Selangor – 62 cases
6. Industri Jalan Jasmin in Hulu Selangor, Selangor – 25 cases
7. Industri Taming Lima in Hulu Langat, Selangor – 13 cases
8. Industri Agas Lima in Tangkak and Muar, Johor – 8 cases
9. Jalan SILC Industri in Johor Baru, Johor – 13 cases
10. Tanjung A Empat in Johor Baru and Pontian, Johor – 22 cases
11. Industri Ayer Keroh in Malacca Tengah and Jasin, Malacca – 25 cases
12. Industri Jalan Mawar in Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah, Malacca – 47 cases
13. Jalan Abang Haji Openg in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur – 10 cases
14. Air Panas construction site, Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur – 176 cases
15. Jalan Sg Tapang in Kuching, Samarahan and Asajaya in Sarawak – 31 cases
16. Pintas-Linkudau in Keningau and Tambunan, Sabah – 10 cases
17. Jalan Bidor in Batang Pedang, Perak – 8 cases
The workplace clusters were detected at factories, service companies, and construction sites.
Meanwhile, the four clusters that stemmed from community transmissions were Kg Serikin (49 cases) in Bau and Kuching, Sarawak, Jalan Padang Tembak Ayer Hitam (22 cases) in Penang, Cabang Empat Salam (10 cases) in Pasir Mas and Kota Baru, Kelantan, and Durian Penjara (18 cases) in Marang and Hulu Terengganu, Terengganu.
Completing the list today was the Jalan 18/16A Petaling cluster of 12 cases involving the high-risk residents of a care home, and Tembok Taiping 2 detention centre cluster in Larut, Matang and Selama, Perak, which contributed 327 cases.
Noor Hisham also said that there are currently 810 active clusters of infection in the country. – June 18, 2021.
