More than 5,000 vaccination appointments given to students going overseas

THE Covid-19 immunisation task force (CITF) has given out more than 5,000 vaccination appointments to students who are leaving the country for their studies overseas, said Science, technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

According to Khairy, the co-ordinating minister for the national Covid-19 immunisation programme, the exact number is 5,621 appointments issued.

“I am sure the remaining applications will be processed and the appointments will be given out soon,” he told a weekly joint press conference with Health Minister Dr Adham Baba today.

Students who have to yet to receive their appointments can write to permohonan@vaksincovid.gov.my for their applications to be approved.

Khairy also said 98,166 expectant mothers have applied for vaccination.

He said appointments will be given to expectant mothers based on their estimated date of delivery (EDD).

A total of 3,000 appointments was issued to pregnant women in Kuala Lumpur last week while another 244 were given out in Perlis.

He said the remaining appointments are being processed and priority will be given based on the EDD. – June 21, 2021.
