HEALTHCARE workers have administered 7 million Covid-19 doses under the national immunisation programme, after 215,968 doses were recorded yesterday.
The special committee for ensuring access to Covid-19 vaccine supply said, of these, the 148,380 doses administered yesterday were first doses.
This brings the total number of doses administered to 7.03 million.
Meanwhile, 1.96 million people or 6.0% of the population have been inoculated with their two-dose schedule, while 5.07 million or 15.5% of the population have received one dose.
At 23.5% or 25,825 people, Putrajaya is the district with the highest percentage of residents inoculated against the virus.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said recently that the government wants to immunise 10% of the population against Covid-19 by mid-July.
This will mean that roughly 10.7 million doses will have to be administered within the time frame, using the government’s projection ratio of 30 second doses for every 100 doses administered. – June 26, 2021.
