SELANGOR has sufficient Covid-19 vaccines to last a week at the current rate of usage, said Khairy Jamaluddin’s science adviser, rebutting a state official’s claim of short supply.

Dr Mohd Ghows Mohd Azzam also chided state executive councillor Dr Siti Mariah for airing her complaints on social media instead of taking it to the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).

“Salam YB @DrSitiMariah, you could have easily contacted CITF regarding this instead of putting it on social media.

“Let me explain, in the VMS (Vaccine Management Solution) system, Selangor currently has about 339k doses. With Selangor utilising at 40k/day, this is enough for at least a week,” he said in a tweet.

He attached a screenshot of the delivery schedule in a subsequent tweet.

“On top of that, there is a scheduled delivery on 28/6, 29/6, 30/6, 1/7, 2/7,3/7, and 4/7 to Selangor. If you are talking about vaccines outside of PICK (National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme) for that, I can’t help.

“May Allah bless our efforts? Salam YB,” he said.

Siti Mariah today took Khairy to task on Twitter, accusing him of treating Selangor unfairly and warning him that vaccination centres would have to shut if the federal government did not replenish the vaccine supply.

“Discriminate (against) Selangor and the whole country will suffer. You answer Allah, Minister,” she said in a series of messages to Khairy, who oversees the national Covid-19 immunisation programme.

Siti Mariah tagged Khairy, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari and special health adviser to the prime minister Dr Jemilah Mahmood in the post. – June 27, 2021.
