Workplaces, community transmissions dominate new virus clusters

THE Health Ministry reported 21 new Covid-19 clusters today, of which 11 involved workplaces and nine from community transmissions, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

There was also one high-risk group cluster, called Jalan Residensi in Penang, with 29 cases involving staff of a medical centre.

The workplace and community clusters today are as follows:

Workplace

5. Lorong Perusahaan Maju Lapan in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang (9)

6. Jalan Perusahaan Maju Sembilan in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang and Kerian, Perak (13)

7. Industri Balakong Empat in Hulu Langat, Selangor (23)

8. Industri Perusahaan Selesa Jaya in Hulu Langat, Selangor (13)

9. Jalan Sin Chew Kee in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur (9)

10. Kg Telok Kemang in Muar, Johor (31)

11. Jalan Industri Enam Jelapang in Kinta, Perak (8)

Community transmissions

12. Kg Tengah Tanah Merah in Tanah Merah, Kelantan (8)

13. Kg Redang Gunong in Bachok and Kota Baru, Kelantan (9)

14. Kg Bagus in Pasir Mas, Kelantan (8)

Most of these clusters were detected as a result of targeted community screening.
