More than 300,000 Covid-19 jabs administered yesterday

MORE than nine million Covid-19 vaccine shots have been administered, 313,761 of them yesterday.
This is a little over 100,000 more shots than the 204,015 given the day before on July 4, as the government works to ramp up the number of vaccinations daily.
Of the shots given on July 5, 196,603 were first doses and 117,158, second doses, said the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) on Twitter.
This means 2.74 million people, or 8.4% of the population, have been inoculated with two doses.
Another 6.59 million people, or 20.2% of the population, have received their first dose of the vaccine.
By adult population, 28.1% have had one dose and 11.7% have had two doses.
Putrajaya is the territory with the highest vaccination rate among states, with 26.2% of its population covered by two doses.
It is followed by Labuan at 18.3% and Perlis at 17.4%.
Selangor, which continues to report the highest number of daily infections, has the lowest vaccination rate.
As of yesterday, the state only reported 367, 895 or 5.6% of its population fully vaccinated, out of 6.56 million residents.
