SARAWAK will move into phase two of the national recovery plan on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.
It is the latest state to move into the second phase of the plan to exit the Covid-19 lockdown, joining Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Penang, Perak and Perlis.
“The implementation of the movement-control order has had a positive impact on these states, which has enabled them to step from phase 1 to phase 2 under the national recovery plan,” Ismail said in a statement.
“After today’s meeting with the prime minister and Health Ministry, the security council has decided that Sarawak is ready to transition from phase 1 to phase 2, based on the plan’s achievement threshold.”
The criteria for a state to move to phase two are daily Covid-19 cases of below 4,000, full vaccination for 10% of the population and ICU bed usage in hospitals at “moderate” level. – July 12, 2021.
