Community clusters lead the list with 8 groups

HALF of the 16 new Covid-19 clusters reported today were from community transmissions, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
The Health Ministry director-general said apart from the eight clusters, there were five clusters linked to workplaces and three linked to high-risk groups.
The eight community clusters were:
1. Kg Pulau Kundar in Tumpat and Kota Baru, Kelantan (12 cases)
2. Jalan Dusun Langgar in Tumpat and Kota Baru, Kelantan (14 cases)
3. Lorong Kubur Maras in Kota Baru, Kelantan (14 cases)
4. Tanjung Gelam in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu (20 cases)
5. Tok Molor in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu (13 cases)
6. Rantau Kesidang in Maran and Jerantut, Pahang (29 cases)
7. Ketior Dalam in Kuala Kangsar, Perak (14 cases)
8. Kg Kendaie in Lundu, Sarawak (23 cases)
The Kg Kendaie cluster was linked to a funeral while the other clusters were mostly linked to a symptomatic index patient.
The five workplace clusters reported by health authorities were:
9. The Jalan Cendana construction site in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur (four cases)
10. Lorong Sentosa Satu in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan (eight cases)
11. Putrajaya 15 in Putrajaya (17 cases)
12. Industri Utas in Klang, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Petaling in Selangor (35 cases)
13. Resort Sepang in Sepang, Selangor (13 cases)
The Jalan Cendana cluster resulted from a screening exercise at a construction site while Putrajaya 15 involved workers of a supermarket.
Meanwhile, Lorong Sentosa Satu was detected at a service company while Industri Utas was discovered at a factory.
Two of the three clusters linked to high-risk groups on the list today were detected at healthcare facilities.
These were Taman Utama Satu in Muar and Tankak, Johor, which saw eight cases and Seksyen 14 Jalan Bayam in Kota Baru, Tumpat and Pasir Mas, which reported 10 cases.
Bayam Tiga in Kuala Langat and Klang, Selangor was the third cluster in the category. The cluster involving residents and staff of a care home saw nine cases.
Noor Hisham said there are currently 865 active clusters in the country. – July 12, 2021.
