TELECOMMUNICATION companies’ service centres located in shopping malls and hypermarket buildings are allowed to operate from tomorrow, Deputy Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.

“The National Security Council has agreed to give approval to all such outlets in shopping malls and big supermarkets to operate throughout the national recovery plan, starting July 13,” he said in a statement.

Prior to this, these service companies were not on the list of businesses allowed to operate under the movement-control order (MCO).

However, the reopening of these service centres in malls and hypermarkets does not apply to areas under the enhanced movement-control order (EMCO), one of Ismail Sabri’s officers clarified to The Malaysian Insight later.

A major part of Selangor and sections of Kuala Lumpur are among areas currently under the EMCO. – July 12, 2021.
