TWO more companies have been appointed to provide oxygen supply to the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) low-risk quarantine and Covid-19 treatment centre in Serdang, the Health Ministry’s secretary general Mohd Shafiq Abdullah said today.

“We have taken the steps to increase oxygen supply by appointing two more companies. So, this issue does not arise,” he said in a press conference today.

His announcement follows The Malaysian Insight’s report earlier today that the MAEPS quarantine centre was running out of oxygen supply.

The shortage could affect some 100 patients who are in need of oxygen.

The facility, which has more than 5,000 beds, has been receiving an average of 800 patients a day, with 200 being category 4 patients who require oxygen assistance to breathe. – July 13, 2021
