26 clusters detected, four linked to healthcare sector

FOUR of the 26 Covid-19 clusters reported today are linked to the healthcare sector, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said. 

The director-general of health said the four clusters fall under the high-risk category.

The Jalan Kelaboran cluster in Tumpat, Kelantan, which reported 11 cases, involved staff members of a health institute. 

Sentosa 2 in Kuching, Samarahan, Asajaya and Bau, Sarawak (52 cases), and Dah Melor in Sik, Baling, Pendang, and Kuala Muda (49 cases), Kedah involved staff and patients of healthcare facilities.

The fourth cluster, known as Jalan Pahat 15, saw a whopping 104 cases. It was discovered following a targeted screening exercise for healthcare workers. 

Meanwhile, workplace clusters formed the bulk on the list today, at 15. 

The workplace clusters are:

1. Lorong Aik Hwa in Muar, Johor (15 cases);

2. Persiaran Teknologi 11 in Kulai and Johor Baru, Johor (15 cases);

3. Jalan Dian 19 in Johor Baru, Johor (11 cases);

4. Jalan Teo Kui Ngo in Meradong, Sarawak (13 cases);

5. Jalan Lebuh Ayer Keroh in Malacca Tengah, Jasin and Alor Gajah, Malacca (33 cases);

6. Jalan Jasin Bestari in Jasin, Malacca (47 cases);

7. Dah Saga Industri Sungai Petani in Kuala Muda and Kulim (75 cases);

8. Dah Ketil Industri Baling in Baling, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Sik, Kedah (31 cases);

9. Lorong Ara in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur (12 cases);

10. Jalan Ampang Sejahtera in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur (seven cases);

11. Metropolis 2 construction site (69 cases);

12. Jalan Sinar Sentul (nine cases);

13. Industri Alam Jaya 2/3 in Kuala Selangor and Gombak (33 cases);

14. Industri Jalan Mas Tujuh in Sepang, Selangor (five cases); and

15. Jalan Medan Seksyen Sembilan in Hulu Langat, Selangor (15 cases). 

These clusters were found at factories, construction sites, shopping outlets and service companies.

The remaining seven clusters today stemmed from community transmissions.
