EMCO in Selangor ends at midnight

THE enhanced movement control order (EMCO) covering large parts of Selangor will end at midnight, said Deputy Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob today.
The blanket lockdown has been in force across 34 sub-districts since July 3, covering Petaling, Kuala Langat, Gombak, Sepang, Klang, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, and Hulu Langat, and sub-districts.
Ismail Sabri said, in view of the current situation in the eight districts, the Ministry of Health agreed not to extend the EMCO, except for a targeted quarantine of four localities, which will stay subject to the EMCO until July 31.
The areas of concern are:
1. Damai Apartment, PJS 8, Mukim Damansara, Petaling
2. Jalan Pandan Indah, Mukim Ampang, Hulu Langat
3. Jalan Batu Nilam, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Mukim Klang
4. Taman Samudera, Mukim Batu, Gombak.
Malaysia continues to report daily Covid-19 cases in the tens of thousands, logging 12,541 cases over the past 24 hours, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
According to Noor Hisham, Selangor continued to top the chart of daily cases by state with 5,512 cases, followed by Negri Sembilan with 1,619 cases and Kuala Lumpur rounding the top three with 1,542 cases.
The latest Covid-19 cases for each district in Selangor:
1. Gombak: 1,066
2. Petaling: 2,104
3. Klang: 1,169
4. Kuala Langat: 234
5. Hulu Langat: 977
6. Sepang: 210
7. Hulu Selangor: 179
8. Kuala Selangor: 160
