Record 175,113 active Covid-19 cases, 143 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 143 Covid-19 deaths and currently has 175,113 active cases nationwide, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
The increase in active cases is worrying as most hospitals, especially those in the Klang Valley where the majority of new cases were reported, have run out of space.
Hospitals are also reporting shortage of manpower and ventilators as the patient count continues to increase.
Today’s statistics showed there were 1,016 admissions into intensive care units, with 529 patients requiring respiratory support.
Noor Hisham said with the additional 143 fatalities today, the death toll now stands at 8,551. – July 28, 2021.
