Malaysia logs 19,631 Covid-19 cases, Labuan reports none

LABUAN, which has the highest rate of full vaccinations in the country, has become the first state to report zero Covid-19 cases today, while the national daily tally stood at 19,631.
The federal territory island has 89.3% of its adult population or 61,188 people covered with two doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, who announced the figures today, said the country’s fresh infections bring the national caseload to 1,444,270.
Selangor reported the highest number of cases at 5,753, followed by Sabah with 2,103.
Other states and federal territories that reported new cases today were Kuala Lumpur (1,765), Johor (1,309), Sarawak (835), Negri Sembilan (490), Kedah (1,863), Penang (1,275), Kelantan (1,268), Perak (1,101), Malacca (623), Pahang (670), Terengganu (498), Putrajaya (41) and Perlis (37).
Meanwhile, 11.06 million individuals or 47.2% of the adult population in Malaysia have received two vaccine doses while 17.25 million people or 73.7% of the adult population have received one shot. – August 17, 2021.
