18,547 new Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA has recorded 18,547 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The fresh cases bring the national Covid-19 caseload to 1,880,734.

For the second day in a row, Sarawak’s 3,200 cases made it the largest number by state. Meanwhile, it has recorded more than 3,000 cases for three consecutive days. Its highest count was on Sunday when it recorded 3,747 infections.

Selangor recorded 2,407 infections today.

Other states that reported more than 1,000 cases are Sabah with 2,107 infections, Johor (2,174), Kedah (1,487), Penang (1,776), Kelantan (1,458) and Perak (1,197).  

States that reported fewer than 1,000 cases are Negri Sembilan (229), Kuala Lumpur (631), Malacca (448), Pahang (742), Terengganu (645), Putrajaya (22), Perlis (20) and Labuan (4). 

Health authorities administered 313,751 doses of Covid-19 vaccines yesterday, bringing the number of fully vaccinated to 16,107,712 or 68.8% of the adult population. – September 7, 2021.
